She is research associate in Medieval German Studies at the University of Frankfurt am Main. Her main research interests are in the fields of a historical narratology and courtly romances. Her dissertation project deals with the late Arthurian romance <em>Meleranz<\/em> written by the Pleier and asks for narrative possibilities of text organization and structuring that go beyond the typical narrator figure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:32px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Research related to commentary<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>I am currently especially working on the various forms and functions of narrator\u2019s commentaries in German vernacular texts. As part of my dissertation, I am working on narrator\u2019s commentaries in medieval courtly romances. With a view on the <em>Meleranz<\/em> I ask, inter alia, how the narrator\u2019s commentaries can be substituted by various narrative structures and devices that have the same effects on the narration as the narrator&#8217;s commentaries.
